Simplicity is the state of something being simple or uncomplicated.

It is a very interesting topic as a lot of people can relate to what simplicity means.
To me, something that is simple, usually looks more classy and interesting as the message can be brought through stronger by using fewer elements to explain something to another person.
Examples of brands that use simplicity includes Woolworths, Apple Mackintosh, Mc Donalds and Mac make up, just as a few of the successful brands who used simplicity successfully.

In our busy world of today, a lot of people do not want to spend the time reading a lot of information to understand a product or what is being advertised, for example with smart phones, people do not want to take a lot of time to understand how a mobile device or electronic device works, they want it to be user friendly in the sense that everything should be simpler and easier to understand, with the click of a button, amazing things should happen.

Another example of this is that people are getting used to reading and understanding semiotics, thus, semiotics supports simplicity, as it gives through enough information for us as the audience to understand the message that is conveyed.
A lot of companies use semiotics as part of their strategy to advertise or convey a message on a simpler level of understanding.

Simplicity can also be combined with minimalism as a design element. A minimalistic design can either be a really good design, or it can be a real bad design. In order for one to create a good design that is simple and minimalistic, one should do research on the product/brand or campaign and see what elements of the product/brand or campaign can be used to create a simpler design. Usually, one should keep in mind who the target market is, and use this information as an advantage by using objects and elements to design in such a way that they know what they are seeing before they read more about the product/brand or campaign.

At the end of the day, considering the product/service or campaign advertised, less can be more if the branding allows it.

My goal is to create more simplistic designs and artworks to affect people more and convey a message even stronger.
